Meet Walker
I am a licensed professional counselor associate (LPC-A), supervised by Austin Bridges (LPC-S) based in Houston Texas with a passion for assisting those struggling with Anxiety, OCD, or LGBTQ+ related concerns.
I studied psychology at the University of Texas in Austin with a minor in educational psychology and I got my masters of science degree at Southern Methodist University in clinical mental health counseling.
My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy should help you understand yourself while also giving you practical ways to change the patterns that keep you stuck. I often work with people who feel trapped in cycles of intrusive thoughts, doubt, checking, avoidance, reassurance seeking, or overthinking. I also work with queer and trans clients navigating identity, relationships, belonging, and the pressure to be certain about who they are. These experiences can overlap in complicated ways, and therapy should leave room for that complexity rather than reducing every question about identity to a symptom.
My style is active, collaborative, and human. I won’t sit silently while you try to figure everything out on your own, but I also won’t position myself as the authority on your life. I’ll ask questions, offer honest feedback, help you notice patterns, and work alongside you as we figure out what is actually useful.
Evidence-Based Care That Still Feels Personal
For OCD and anxiety, I draw from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and CBT. This may involve gradually approaching situations, thoughts, or feelings that create anxiety while learning to step away from the compulsions and avoidance that keep the cycle going. We’ll move at a thoughtful pace, but our work will also be intentional and oriented toward meaningful change.
A Place to Show Up as You Are
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly how to explain what you’re experiencing. My goal is to create a calm, affirming space where you can speak openly without having to edit, minimize, or defend parts of yourself.
Ultimately, I want therapy to help you build a life that feels more like your own rather than being organized around fear, compulsions, other people’s expectations, or the impossible pursuit of certainty. We’ll work together to understand what has been keeping you stuck, practice responding differently, and make more room for the people, experiences, and values that matter to you.
